After Three Years of Research: Living Lab Leemsteen Project Completed
Over the past three years, a2o has been part of a multidisciplinary team involved in the research, design, execution, and analysis of several case studies within the VLAIO Living Lab “From Earth to Value – Practical Application of Clay Blocks.” This research project has been concluded with an inspiring final event on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at the UHasselt Campus 'Oude Gevangenis'!
During this event, we shared key insights and lessons learned throughout the process. We demonstrated how clay blocks can serve not only as an ecological and circular building material, but also as a technically and aesthetically versatile solution within Flemish construction practice.
